About
Our School
Built in 1972, Sheckler Elementary School is home to over 600 students
in the Catasauqua area from kindergarten to fourth grade. The
school
is dedicated to the memory of Francis H. Sheckler, a longtime citizen
of
Catasauqua and a teacher for over fifty years.
Each
grade level in our school has six or seven classes of 25 students or
less.
The classrooms for kindergarten, first, and second grade are located on
the first floor and the third and fourth grade classrooms are located
on
the second floor. Each classroom comes equipped with a sink,
ample
closet space, wall-to-wall carpeting, a television, and at least 4
computers.
Sheckler
also has a library with over 12,000 books, an art room, a TV Studio for
closed circuit broadcasts throughout the school, a computer room with
25
workstations, a music room, a gymnasium, a large group meeting room, a
cafeteria, a full-size stage for grade level productions, a landscaped
courtyard with a pond, and a large playground area.
