CASD Induction Program

In preparation for a successful school year, new CASD educators and specialists will be required to participate in the Catasauqua Area SD New Faculty Induction Program. A large portion of this program will be provided by the Carbon Lehigh IU. The CLIU portion of the induction program delivers the professional development component of our school district induction plan.  It will begin with two face-to-face sessions, followed by online courses facilitated by the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit.  

  • New Faculty Face to Face Orientation @ LCCC
    • Thursday – New Faculty & Mentors 
    • Friday - New Faculty Inductees ONLY
  • CASD District Orientation @ District Administration Office
    • Monday - 12:00 - 2:15 PM - New Faculty Orientation

The online courses are month-long, asynchronous courses completed in succession. You will learn more about the online courses during the two day, face to face orientation at LCCC. 

Additionally, as part of the induction program, new faculty members will meet with their mentors to review district and building specific information. Furthermore, district level induction professional development activities may be scheduled periodically during the school year.
