Professional Development - Continuity of Learning
CASD is planning to engage in remote instruction. Remote instruction will begin on Monday, March 30th with review and enrichment of concepts taught earlier in the school year and will then transition to learning new content. Catasauqua Area School District administrators and teachers will be working in collaboration with the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit to develop continuity of education plans for our students. Additionally, principals and teachers will be contacting families to determine students’ at-home access to technology, and to provide further remote learning instructions. We remain committed to prioritizing student learning and providing resources to keep our students engaged while learning from home.
In order to prepare for the transition to remote instruction, we have provided a wealth of professional learning opportunities as well as time for planning. Teachers, specialists, aides should engage in a minimum of 12 hours of planning and professional learning (reading, viewing webinars, exploring resources) to prepare to begin to regularly connect and provide structured review and enrichment opportunities for students beginning on Monday, March 30th.
AFTER COMPLETING ALL 12 HOURS, Complete this Google Form to receive Act 48 credit for your professional learning and planning and preparation related to preparation for remote review, enrichment, and instruction.
