Short-Term Substitute: Special Education Teacher, Catasauqua Middle School
Approximately December 8 to March 13
CASD is seeking a short-term substitute Special Education Teacher for the middle school. A valid PA teaching certification is required.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with staff and content-area teachers to support students and daily school operations.
- Deliver middle school math curriculum to small groups.
- Work with administration, staff, and parents to develop and implement IEPs and complete special education documentation.
- Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and appropriate care of equipment and facilities.
- Model positive personal traits such as integrity, respect, responsibility, and good citizenship.
- Follow PA School Code, the Collective Bargaining Agreement, school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policies.
- Maintain open communication with administrators, parents, students, staff, and the community.
- Complete all required records and IEP documents within established timelines.
- Use varied instructional strategies and provide learning opportunities beyond the classroom.
- Incorporate relevant technology into instruction.
- Show understanding and concern for each student’s educational needs.
Compensation & Qualifications:
- Rate: $190 per day
- Education: Bachelor’s degree with a major in Special Education
- Certification: Valid PA Special Education certificate
- Clearances: Current Acts 34, 151, and FBI clearances required
- Availability: Able to begin in mid-December and remain until the teacher returns
- Must be able to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodations.

Catasauqua Area School District is seeking a short-term substitute for Grade 7 Science at Catasauqua Middle School. The successful candidate will provide engaging, standards-based instruction in accordance with the Pennsylvania Science Standards and foster curiosity, inquiry, and a love for learning among students.
Position Details:
- Location: Catasauqua Middle School
- Assignment: Short-term position (anticipated dates: December 8, 2025-January 16, 2026.)

- Reports To: Building Principal
- Pay Rate: $190.00 per day , No benefits
Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate (Middle Level Science 6–9, General Science 7–12, or related area preferred) but other certifications will be considered.
- Experience teaching at the middle school level preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment

The Catasauqua Area School District is seeking a full-time “B Level” Custodial Worker for the PM shift at Catasauqua Middle School.
This is a Full Time, 12 Month position, approx.. 2 pm – 9:30 pm on school days, responsible for cleaning, basic maintenance work, minor grounds keeping and snow removal.
Required: High school diploma, suitable clearances, basic knowledge of tools and maintenance principles, excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, and a valid driver’s license. Requires physical capability to lift up to 80 pounds and perform demanding tasks.
