Educational Technology Resources
Digital Tools & Student Privacy
Every Catasauqua student is provided with accounts for our core instructional platforms, including Clever, Canvas, and Google Workspace for Education. Beyond these core tools, teachers may also use supplemental resources—such as Nearpod, Edpuzzle, and Kahoot—which students access via a class code or "Sign in with Google."
Our Vetting Process
Student data privacy and security are our top priorities. The district utilizes a rigorous vetting process for every application used in the classroom. We review each tool to ensure it meets our strict requirements for security, student privacy, and appropriate terms of use. Because technology moves fast, we update our list of approved applications throughout the school year, and we encourage you to check this page for any changes.
Google Workspace for Education
Providing a safe digital environment is the foundation of all Google Workspace products. This suite is one of the most secure cloud-based platforms in the world, and every service adheres to the highest educational standards for privacy and compliance.
- Security: Our learning environments are free of ads and protected against spam and cyberthreats.
- Data Ownership: The district retains full ownership and intellectual property rights over all data.
- Privacy: As outlined in our contracts, Google does not assume ownership of any student or district data. We maintain full control over how data is managed and downloaded within our school community.
