  • WELCOME TO THE HIGH SCHOOL!

    1. GET A GOOD START!-It is important to work hard in every subject during your first year of high school.  Students that maintain a good attitude about the high school (including courses, subjects, assignments, teachers, activities and other students), generally are very successful during all four years of high school.

    2. GET INVOLVED!-In the past, freshman who have become involved in school activities seem to make the transition from the Middle School to the High School much easier.  There are many activities and athletics to get involved in.  Listen for announcements! Remember that colleges and employers want well-rounded individuals who are team players.

    3. IT IS NEVER TOO EARLY!-It is never too early to start thinking about your future!  Stop by the guidance office to discover resources that are available to research colleges, technical schools,the military, and the work force.  You can also visit the website: www.bigfuture.org which is a step-by-step guide to college planning.  You can now turn your good grades, community service hours, extracurricular activities and college visits into scholarship money.  Visit www.raise.me.com to find out how!

    4. RANK AND GPA!-Your class rank and GPA in 9th grade is your foundation for the rest of your high school career.  It is important to end your 9th grade year with a solid class rank and GPA.
