Job Opportunity: Elementary School Counselor

Position Overview:  

The Catasauqua Area School District is seeking a dedicated School Counselor to provide comprehensive support in career, academic, and social/emotional development. This is a full time, 10-month position, beginning in the 2026-2027 school year.  This position reports directly to the Building Principal. Key Responsibilities:  

  • Provide individual and group counseling for academic, career, and personal/social needs.
  • Prepare students for career pathways through exploration and decision-making activities.
  • Coordinate with parents, staff, and community agencies to support student development.
  • Participate in student support teams (SAP, IST, MTSS) and faculty meetings.
  • Manage student transitions, orientation, and class placement.
  • Plan, interpret, and report on standardized testing programs.
  • Consult on pupil records and maintain communication with all stakeholders.
     

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Education (School Counseling concentration).
  • PA School Counselor Certification.
  • Valid Driver's License.
     

Required Clearances:

  • PA Criminal Background Check
  • PA ChildAbuse History Clearance
  • FBI Fingerprint Clearance.
